A Creative & Healing Space for Deep Transformation

Connect with a supportive, creative environment where art therapy, EMDR, and somatic experiencing come together. Whether you are seeking individual counselling to move past heavy blocks, or looking for clinical support as a mental health professional - discover new pathways of lightness, resilience, and joy.

Often, there is one underlying force that holds us back more than anything else: shame.

Shame can cast a shadow over your well-being, convincing you that your gifts, your presence, and your peace aren’t yours to claim. But beneath that shadow, a quiet truth remains: your capacity for deep healing, self-compassion, and authentic expression is already within you, just waiting for you to reclaim it.

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH SERVICES

As a counselor or therapist, investing in yourself can lead to more transformative impacts with your clients. Whether you’re a student, novice practitioner, or seasoned professional – clinical supervision, consultation, and continuing education is essential for maintaining your work with a client while gaining more clarity on your counselling therapy skills.

Upon request: online services for supervision or consultation during Tuesday-Thursday 6-8pm. Please contact if needed.

Are you starting a clinical placement, or a post-graduate professional looking for a qualified Supervisor to support your ongoing development? Lorian will ensure that you're upholding the necessary ethical requirements and standards or practice while maintaining clients' wellness in the counselling profession.

If you believe Lorian’s background and approach might be a good fit for you, please reach out and schedule a complimentary 15-Min Supervision Fit Connection Call. Please contact if needed.

Note: Clinical supervision is a mandatory requirement for an academic program or working towards a professional certification/designation. A Clinical Supervisor has ethical and legal responsibility for the work you do (or don't do!), while safeguarding your client's well-being.

Let’s face it – there are moments where it’s refreshing to connect with another colleague who can attend and actively listen to your therapeutic process while ensuring your client is receiving the best care possible. Lorian offers 30 min ($70.00) and 60 min ($120.00) individual consultation sessions, on Sundays (11-3pm, in-person).

Upon request: online services during Tuesday-Thursday 6-8pm - please contact if needed.

Note: Clinical consultation is between colleagues and peers, and is entirely optional with the understanding that the consultant doesn't have any oversight or responsibility for your clinical work or clients. This means that the professional can accept or reject the consultant’s opinion.

Lorian has presented on art therapy, regulation of art therapists in Alberta, and single-session workshops to the community. Please contact Lorian if you're interested in her providing a workshop or presentation.

FAQs

Think of counselling and psychotherapy as a collaborative, supportive space focused entirely on you. At its core, it's a relationship-based process designed to help you get to know yourself better, find deeper emotional acceptance, and spark personal growth.

Whether you're trying to navigate a major life decision, untangle a tricky inner conflict, work through developmental challenges, or simply build stronger and more fulfilling relationships, therapy is a place to sort things through without judgment.

Sometimes, just having a safe space to talk things out can change everything. Talk therapy is all about working through emotional and behavioral hurdles so you can feel better day-to-day, lift the weight of difficult symptoms, and truly enjoy your life more.

Best of all? You don't have to carry it all on your own. Sometimes, simply getting a fresh, caring perspective from someone trained to listen can help you see your concerns in a whole new light and find a clear path forward.

You don't need to be the next Leonardo da Vinci - or even know how to draw a straight line - to try art therapy!

Art therapy simply blends traditional talk therapy with creative expression, using colors, shapes, and imagery to help you explore what’s going on inside. It’s a wonderful way to express feelings that can be hard to put into words, let go of self-doubt, and practice being okay with where you are right now.

There are zero art prerequisites or experience required. It's not about making a masterpiece; it's simply about letting the art help you heal and grow.

Have you ever noticed how your eyes move when you process thoughts? EMDR uses gentle, guided side-to-side movements - or other rhythmic left-right sensations (bilateral stimulation) - while you briefly think about a difficult memory. It sounds simple, but it actually helps your brain reprocess that memory so it loses its intense emotional charge and doesn't feel so overwhelming anymore.

Trauma and stress don't just live in our thoughts; they can get locked right inside our physical bodies. Somatic Experiencing (SE™) focuses heavily on your nervous system, helping you release stored shock and stress. Instead of just talking about what happened, it gently tunes into bodily sensations to help calm your system and bring you back into balance.

Before you decide what to share with me, it is important to know how your personal information might be handled prior to communicating with me (ex: online, in-person, phone, email, etc.).

  • Any personal or private details shared through email, intake forms, Connection Call, phone or sessions are stored electronically and create a service/client record. Records may be kept (or retained) for at least 11 years, in line with legal and professional record-keeping standards.
  • Sharing details about abuse, assault, disability, legal concerns, abuse or misconduct from a regulated health professional, or work-related injuries impacts how your file, privacy, and confidentiality must be managed, as well as how long records are retained.
  • While your privacy is important, I am legally and ethically required to reach out to community or emergency services if there appears to be an immediate and significant risk of harm to yourself or someone else.
  • It is recommended that you ask me questions during a Connection Call or a scheduled session to learn more about your options before you choose to share sensitive, personal information. This is part of an informed consent conversation, along with establishing a formal agreement if we decide to work together.

When trauma or stress gets stuck in our minds and bodies, talk therapy is a great start, but sometimes we need approaches that go a little deeper. To help you navigate these changes, Lorian draws on a variety of therapeutic styles. Depending on what works best for you, sessions might interweave art therapy, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing (SE™), and education with your consent. Her approach is all about helping your mind and body finally feel settled, and able to move forward from shame.

Ultimately, it’s all about finding the right fit and approach to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered on your journey.

At the moment, Lorian focuses exclusively on supporting individuals, as that is where her specialized training and experience lie. Because relationships and family dynamics are so unique, she believes in making sure you get the absolute best support possible!

If you're looking for a dedicated couples or family therapist, there are some wonderful local professionals and service providers who specialize in that area. You can check out the Canadian Association for Couple and Family Therapy Directory, Psychology Today Directory or local counselling association directories to find a great fit for you and your loved ones.

A 15-minute meet-and-greet is necessary to start determining the goodness-of-fit.

Lorian brings as a Canadian Clinical Supervisor (CCS) and Registered Canadian Art Therapist Supervisor (RCAT-S):

  • 7+ years of helping individuals heal from the impacts of trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, attachment concerns, and relationship stress within single-session, short-term, long-term, and group therapy service delivery models
  • 7+ years of mentoring and coaching students in making a seamless transition from classroom to real-world practice
  • 4+ years of supervising student therapists
  • Comprehensive video reviews, case consultations, clinical writing support, and constructive feedback

You can sign-up for a consultation, and complete the required intake paperwork that'll be sent to you.

Clinical consultation is a voluntary, non-reporting relationship with a more experienced professional to support your work with clients (CCPA, 2024). The professional can accept or reject the consultant’s perspective.
